Isospin observables from fragment energy spectra
The energy spectra of light charged particles and intermediate mass fragments from 112Sn+ 112Sn and 124Sn+ 124Sn collisions at an incident energy of E/A = 50 MeV have been measured with a large array of silicon strip detectors. We used charged-particle multiplicities detected in an array with nearly 4π coverage to select data from the central collision events. We study isospin observables analo...

Multifragmentation reactions without large compression in the initial state (proton-induced reactions, reverse-kinematics, projectile fragmentation) are examined, and it is shown that the high temperatures obtained from fragment kinetic energy spectra and lower temperatures obtained from observables such as level population or isotope ratios can be understood in a common framework.
متن کاملAtmospheric Kinetic Energy Spectra from Global High-Resolution Nonhydrostatic Simulations
Kinetic energy (KE) spectra derived from global high-resolution atmospheric simulations from the Model for PredictionAcross Scales (MPAS) are presented. The simulations are produced using quasi-uniform global Voronoi horizontal meshes with 3-, 7.5-, and 15-km mean cell spacings. KE spectra from the MPAS simulations compare well with observations and other simulations in the literature and posse...
متن کاملDetermining the band gap and mean kinetic energy of atoms from reflection electron energy loss spectra.
Reflection electron energy loss spectra from some insulating materials (CaCO3, Li2CO3, and SiO2) taken at relatively high incoming electron energies (5-40 keV) are analyzed. Here, one is bulk sensitive and a well-defined onset of inelastic excitations is observed from which one can infer the value of the band gap. An estimate of the band gap was obtained by fitting the spectra with a procedure ...
